Mountain Bike Camps
Ride with the pros and accelerate your skills!
Each day of Xcelerator Camp starts with our proven Skills
and Drills program, where a qualified instructor takes
you through the paces, helping you take your bike handling
ability to new heights. Then you're off to ride Tahoe's
killer trails and apply these techniques in the real
world environment.
To help get you acclimated to the altitude and the Tahoe
riding environment, your first day of camp typically
includes a session at scenic Northstar-at-Tahoe. This
is northern California's premiere mountain bike park,
and offers chairlift access and an abundance of great
trails making your introduction to riding in Tahoe a
fun and pleasurable experience. Depending on your riding
style and ability level, you will either return to Northstar
for another lift-served session or venture out on Tahoe's
singletrack with your instructor.
Our proven teaching techniques will accelerate your
skill level, helping you to ride faster, stronger, and
safer than you ever thought possible. You will learn
ambient vision and trail scanning techniques to help
you ride faster and safer. Climb stronger and with more
efficiency as you learn to pick the best line. Descend
with conviction with your new and improved braking and
steering skills.
Our format addresses skills typical of the classic style
of cross-country racing featuring epic singletrack with
the true back country experience: heart pumping climbs,
classic Tahoe panoramic views, and technical descents.
We also delve into the world of freeriding utilizing
lift access or van shuttles to take descending to the
max. Freeride sessions are all about downhill tactics,
drops, jumps, and technical skills pertaining to riding
long travel play bikes. A variety of bikes, from cross-country
hardtails and full suspension bikes to full-on freeride
and DH rigs and protective gear are available for demo
on a first come/first served basis.
Riders participating in our camps will be expected to
be moderately fit. Expect to ride at a moderately vigorous
pace over somewhat rugged terrain for 3-4 hours every
day.

Cross-Country Race - For the
aspiring racer, our Cross-Country Race camp provides specialized
instruction for climbing, cornering, descending, and other
technical skills needed for racing. Riders participating
in this Camp will be expected to be moderately fit and
able to climb and ride hard each day.
Freeride/DH - All about descending, drops,
jumps, and technical skills pertaining to riding long
travel bikes. We utilize lift access at two different
resorts plus shuttles to keep climbing to a minimum and
max out on descending fun. Do you want to give Freeride
a try but don't yet have the gear? CyclePaths offers a
great selection of freeride demo bikes and equipment.
Women-only - For women riders who prefer
the supportive environment of a women-only group. Our
instructors will help you develop your skills and confidence
as you enjoy riding the spectacular Tahoe trails. In addition,
our women-only camp can be specialized for a particular
riding style: cross-country, freeride, or downhill/dual
slalom.
Parent-child – This camp provides
the perfect way for parents and children to share a Tahoe
riding experience while learning together. Whether you
and your child are starting out or are experienced riders,
we offer the kind of instruction that will help both of
you improve your abilities to get maximum enjoyment from
your Tahoe mountain biking adventure. |
